Frequently asked questions

  • Yes for simple text-based PDFs. The "Edit Text" tool detects text blocks and places editable overlays on them. Click any highlighted text block to retype it. For scanned PDFs (images of documents), text editing is not available — but you can cover content with a white rectangle and add new text on top.
  • No. All editing runs in your browser. Your PDF and changes never leave your device. You can verify this by watching your browser's Network tab — you'll see zero upload activity.
  • Click Sign in the toolbar. Draw with mouse or touch, type your name in cursive, or upload a signature image. Once added, drag to position and resize with the handles.
  • For edited existing text, the tool covers the original text with white and places new text at the same size. The font may differ slightly from the original. For perfect matching, a desktop tool like Adobe Acrobat is needed.
  • Yes. Drawing and signing work with touch. Text editing works with the on-screen keyboard. The thumbnail strip and properties panel hide on small screens to maximise the editing area.
